About Us

Mindsilike Wellness is dedicated to providing comprehensive wellness plans focused on healing, personal responsibility, and community well-being.

Our retreats offer a transformative, immersive experience that promotes Wellness plans that support emotional healing, self-care, and personal growth in a rejuvenating, supportive environment. We collaborate with other wellness professionals and conduct research on the efficacy of mental health interventions, particularly for Black communities, to ensure that our practices are both inclusive and effective. Our retreats are designed to:

Address Emotional Burnout

Many professionals, students, and individuals experience stress, burnout, and emotional fatigue. Our retreats provide a space to pause, reflect, and recharge, helping participants reconnect with their inner selves.

Promote Holistic Well-Being

We deliver an integrated approach to wellness through therapeutic sessions, movement practices, mindfulness exercises, and creative arts, nurturing mental, emotional, and physical health.

Foster Community and Connection

Our retreats offer a welcoming environment for participants to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build a supportive network that encourages open dialogue and mutual growth.

Provide Tailored Support for Black and Racialized Professionals

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Black individuals, our retreats offer a culturally relevant space to address these challenges, reduce stigma, and empower participants through effective, evidence-based tools.

Encourage Sustainable Self-Care Practices

With expert-led workshops and coaching, participants leave with practical strategies and self-care routines that they can integrate into their daily lives to maintain balance and resilience.

Promote Personal Empowerment

Mindsilike Wellness inspires participants to step into their power, make confident decisions, and return to their lives with renewed focus and purpose.

Through partnerships with other wellness professionals and research efforts focused on Black mental health, Mindsilike Wellness aims to create inclusive, impactful interventions that empower individuals to thrive in all areas of their lives. Our retreats embody our mission to offer restorative, evidence-based experiences that support holistic well-being and lasting personal growth.

Our Services

The MindsilikeWellness Foundation INC is committed to advancing mental wellness and community healing through culturally grounded, accessible, and equity-driven services. Rooted in a deep understanding of the unique needs of Black, Indigenous, and racialized communities, our Foundation offers the following core services:

1. Culturally Responsive Individual & Group Counselling

We provide affordable, trauma-informed counselling services tailored to the lived experiences of marginalized individuals and families. Our team of diverse practitioners offers support through both individual sessions and therapeutic groups focused on resilience, emotional regulation, and self-care. These services are offered at a reduced rate to ensure affordability and accessibility.

2. Community-Based Mental Health Clinics

Through partnerships with community agencies, we operate two accessible mental health clinics:

· Moss Park Clinic in collaboration with Building Roots – serving under-resourced residents in the downtown east area of Toronto.

· Comfort Inn Site (Rexdale) – a temporary shelter-based mental wellness clinic serving refugees and newcomers, offering wraparound supports including adjustment counselling, mental health assessments, and cultural orientation.

3. Research on Black Women’s Mental Health & Wellness

The Foundation engages in ongoing community-based research to explore and address the systemic and interpersonal challenges impacting Black women’s mental health. Our work centers on themes such as intergenerational trauma, healing justice, gender-based violence, and access to culturally appropriate care. Findings from our research directly inform our programs and advocacy work.

4. Healing Arts & Expressive Therapies

We incorporate expressive modalities such as art therapy, journaling, somatic movement, and music into our healing model. These culturally rooted practices allow for non-verbal processing and deeper emotional release, particularly for clients with trauma histories and limited access to traditional clinical resources.

5. Youth & Family Wellness Programming

Our programs support youth aged 11–18 and their families through skill-building groups, parent coaching, and intergenerational dialogue sessions. We aim to foster emotional literacy, coping strategies, and stronger family relationships within BIPOC households.

6. Mentorship & Training for Emerging BIPOC Mental Health Professionals

The Foundation provides internship placements, clinical supervision, and mentorship opportunities for students and new professionals pursuing careers in counselling,

psychotherapy, and community work. We actively support the development of a new generation of culturally competent leaders.

7. Community Education & Capacity Building

We offer workshops, webinars, and public talks on topics such as:

· Mental health literacy and wellness practices

· Self-care for frontline workers

· Anti-oppressive care in therapeutic settings

· Cultural safety and equity in mental health systems

These educational efforts aim to build capacity within the community and amplify the importance of accessible, affirming care.

8. Advocacy & Systems Change Work

We are actively engaged in advocacy to address systemic inequities in mental health access, particularly for Black, Indigenous, and newcomer populations. This includes participation in municipal and provincial coalitions, policy consultations, and public awareness campaigns.

Conclusion

Through these services, MindsilikeWellness Foundation INC strives to remove barriers to care, affirm cultural identity, and foster collective healing. Our work is guided by a commitment to social justice, community leadership, and the belief that mental wellness is a right, not a privilege.
